Description

Baroque south sea pearls with 18ct gold and diamond clasp.

There are two types of south sea pearl, the silver lipped and the gold lipped. The white pearls are mainly from Australia with the golden being either from the Philippines, Indonesia and rarely Burma. Shapes can be baroque, semi baroque or button shaped, they can also have beautiful drop shapes and perfectly round. The value is dependant largely on the colour of the pearl, the most valuable being fine white. The Pinctada Maxima, south sea oyster, is the largest pearl in the world.
